DTG Compatible Colors

WHICH SHIRT COLORS ARE COMPATIBLE WITH DTG PRINTING
The DTG (or Digital or Direct to Garment Printing) print method is a great alternative to Standard Screen Printing. It can print an infinity amount of colors with one print pass, it does not require color separation, and it can print full color photos or original artwork. There is one downfall to our DTG print method; it will not print white ink. This means that if you are looking for dark garments such as black, brown, navy, and purple you will not want to choose this print method. The ink color must be darker than the shirt in order to show up with DTG Printing. For example, navy ink on a light blue shirt would come out great where as light blue ink on a navy shirt would not show up.

AS SHOWN ON THE LEFT: The ink color must be darker than the shirt in order to show up with DTG Printing. For example, navy ink on a light blue shirt would come out great where as light blue ink on a navy shirt would not show up.

The easiest way to think about it is, always choose a darker ink/artwork color than the selected shirt color.

WHAT TO EXPECT IF YOU HAVE WHITE IN YOUR IMAGE

DTG Printers work a lot like the printers you use for your computer. They both don't have the ability to print white ink. So when white is in the art the printer wont see the white and erase it out of the design when printed.
